Please join us for the annual public meeting open to the community where news will be shared and connections made. Trust Memberships will be sold for $10 / Individual or $15 / Family. The current Board of Trustees will review the business of 2023 and project news for the year ahead. New Board Members will be welcomed as they put their names forward to volunteer for an upcoming three-year term. Everyone is welcome.
Following the business portion of the meeting, guest speaker Mike Lancaster will share an informative talk about the new wilderness reserve recently declared protected space by the province.
“The Newly Designated Island Lake Wilderness Area and the Future of Ingram River Wilderness Area.”
Island Lake Wilderness Area spans 3,937 hectares and contains the lower part of the Ingram River, streams, ponds, old growth forests and diverse species adding to the beauty and majesty of the St. Margaret’s Bay area. It was designated as a protected area by the province of Nova Scotia in December, 2023.
