A new multi-use connector trail, bench and picnic rest spot awaits you off the St. Margaret’s Bay Rails to Trails <\/a>and into Jerry Lawrence Provincial Park.<\/a> Funding provided through the Trust’s Environmental Stewardship Grants Program.<\/a><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The lovely new trail runs along Lewis Lake and takes hikers and bikers up to the main St. Margaret’s Bay Rails to Trails route. Jerry Lawrence Provincial Park offers parking and outdoor washroom facilities.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

This project, a new multi-use 300 meter connector trail,\u00a0 will provide safe access to wilderness areas of our communities for years to come.\u00a0 It is also making them more accessible for everyone, while preserving their natural beauty.<\/p>\n

Hikers, bikers and outdoor enthusiasts can now easily enter Jerry Lawrence Provincial Park off the St. Margaret’s Bay Rails to Trails<\/a> main route, thereby extending any trip easily to reach the washrooms, parking, dock and picnic facilities at Jerry Lawrence.\u00a0 \u00a0The new safe gravel pathway has been landscaped, trimmed and properly built to withstand many years of use.<\/p>\n

The project was funded through the 2017 Environmental Stewardship Grants Program and organized\/led by the local Safety-Minded ATV Association.<\/a><\/p>\n

It was also part of the St. Margaret’s Bay Rails to Trails<\/a> upgrade project that improved the 32 km trail with resurfacing and bridge decking over the past three years.<\/p>\n
